He also played as a punter for Louisiana Tech’s football team in 1978, becoming the first player in the school to record an assist and a sack in the same season. In 1979, Randy led the team to a victory over John Elway’s Stanford Cardinal football team.

She currently lives in Baton Rouge with two children: Mikala and Preston. Her daughter is studying at Loyola University New Orleans, and her son is studying at Louisiana State University.
