Are Rheem and Raypak the same company? ›

Short answer: Raypak is the oldest independent pool heater manufacturer in North America, and is a subsidiary of the Rheem Manufacturing Company. In certain markets, the Raypak pool heaters are labeled and sold as Rheem or Ruud, but are the same exact pool heater.

The average life of a pool heater is between 15 and 25 years with regular usage and proper maintenance, but there are various factors that impact that projection.

The heater's model and serial numbers are located on the rating plate found on the inside of the unit. To locate the rating plate, first loosen the door screw. Remove the door(s), pull up and out. The rating plate will be either a gold or silver color with the Raypak logo.

Check the Power: If your Raypak pool heater isn't working at all, the problem could be something as simple as a lack of power. Go make sure there aren't any tripped circuit breakers in the fuse box, then check that the unit's time clock is set to the “On” position.
