Throughout Red Dead Redemption 2, you go on major heists, commit train robberies, and participate in gang battles. But one of the hardest missions has you collecting plants. It's a stranger quest called duch*esses and Other Animals that becomes available in chapter four.

In the multi-part mission, a unique man named Algernon Wasp tasks you with finding specific exotic items for him. One part requires you to locate seven Lady Slipper Orchids, which is a rare purple flower. In fact, there are only fourteen on the entire map. These are all of the spawn locations.
Common Spawn Problem
Plenty of people have problems with Lady Slipper Orchids not spawning. While sometimes it might be a genuine bug, occasionally it's intentional.
The game doesn't allow you to collect seven of the Orchids until you get to that part of the duch*esses and Other Animals quest. So if you're trying to get a head start, you'll only be able to collect six, and the rest will not spawn.
Big Valley Region
The Big Valley region contains more Lady Slipper Orchids than anywhere else. And they all reside on the western side of the area.
Big Valley Lady Slipper Orchid One
One of the Orchids in Big Valley is south of Black Bone Forest. It's in the middle of a grass-covered area, next to some rocky cliffs.
Big Valley Lady Slipper Orchid Two
This Orchid is also south of Black Bone Forest, only a lot closer. The plant is partway up a grassy hill, near two leafless trees.
Big Valley Lady Slipper Orchid Three
There's a Lady Slipper Orchid close to the western edge of the map. The surrounding area has multiple small inclines, and this fantastic Red Dead plant is atop one of them. Another identifier is the group of tall, skinny trees that are next to your target.
Big Valley Lady Slipper Orchid Four
Directly northwest of the large 'B' on the map is another Orchid. To make it harder to find, the game has placed it among a bunch of other purple flowers. Thankfully, most of them can't be picked up, so hunter vision is really helpful to identify the right one.
Big Valley Lady Slipper Orchid Five
The final one in Big Valley is right outside of Pronghorn Ranch. It's growing in an area that's populated with dead trees.
Northwest Of Wallace Station
If you've found the dinosaur bone northwest of Wallace Station, then this Lady Slipper Orchid will be easy to find as it's right outside the cave that contained the bone.
For those who haven't found the dinosaur remains, the Orchid is directly west of Cattail pond and not far from a train track.

Once you're in the general area, look for a small cave you can enter as the plant is right next to it.
Hanging Dog Ranch
The Hanging Dog Ranch is not an RDR2 area that you'd usually want to visit because a group of enemies is holed up there. But if you want the Lady Slipper Orchid growing at the location, you have to risk it.
It's best to eliminate all hostiles before looking for the plant because they'll interfere with the search.
It's one of the most easy-to-spot Orchids as it's not surrounded by a bunch of other greenery.
Instead, the plant is on the western side of the ranch, inside the bull and cow pen. More specifically, it's next to the northern fence. Watch out when you're in there because the bulls will attack on sight.
Tall Trees Forest
Tall Trees is hardly the most secret location in Red Dead Redemption 2 as you visit the area as part of the main story.
The place is on the western side of the map, and it's often filled with some dangerous foes. Thankfully, it also contains several Lady Slipper Orchids.
Tall Trees Lady Slipper Orchid One
Three of the Orchids in Tall Trees are very close together. The first is just by the road, among a bunch of trees and a large rotting stump.
Tall Trees Lady Slipper Orchid Two
To reach the next one, head a little bit further into the forest. The plant is growing in a small area where there isn't much grass.
The most identifiable things in the location are the two different-sized rocks that sit beside each other.
Tall Trees Lady Slipper Orchid Three
The third Orchid in the area is closer to the north road between the letters 'A' and 'L' on the map. It's directly in front of a group of rocks that are positioned in a semi-circle shape.
Tall Trees Lady Slipper Orchid Four
Arguably the hardest one to find in the Tall Trees area is in the middle of the forest. You'll be best using the map above to find this Orchid as there aren't any identifying landmarks in this one's vicinity. It's simply surrounded by all sorts of generic greenery.
Aurora Basin
Technically, the Aurora Basin is also a part of the Tall Trees region, but it's not a section of the forest. Instead, it resides by the western edge of the map.

The lake is known for being one of the best places to find Large Mouth Bass in Red Dead Online.
More importantly, though, a Lady Slipper Orchid is growing right outside the body of water. While the plant is among greenery again, it's easier to find because the area is flatter and has fewer trees blocking your view.
Monto's Rest (Only Available During The Epilogue)
One of the most incredible details in Red Dead Redemption 2 is how the world is forever changing.
For instance, during most of the game, the Appleseed Timber Company is cutting down all of the trees in Monto's Rest. Then in the epilogue, both the workers and the trees are all gone.
The extra space allows for two Lady Slipper Orchids to grow. They're not too hard to find, either, as the area is mostly a wasteland. Plus, once you find one, you can easily locate the other as they're very close together.
